Ava's Weekend
After Ava's 2 week long bouts of illness, we decided to get her out of the house and enjoy the weekend. Our homeschool preschool co-op decided to do a field trip to the Apple Basket. Which is basically a ladies house, with a make-shift shop in her garage, and about 7 rows of apple trees. But the kids had fun, and so did we. We started out at the Will's house for an early breakfast and then headed out to Franktown road to pick some apples. The kids got to choose a basket to collect their apples in, and use scissors to cut the apples from the trees.

It was freezing that day, so the kids were all bundled up. We collected enough to make an apple pie (still waiting on that...).

The next day, John got a wild hair and decided to break out the Dutch oven we receieved as a wedding present (9 years ago mind you). He and Ava made Basque Sheepherders Bread in it.

His mom was so proud! Ava thought that was a lot of fun, and we dug into it with our dinner.
